NEW SERVICE – EMAIL SERVICE!
On May 6th Guide-Line launched an email service to complement its phone based mental health information and support service.
With funding from Bradford and Airedale teaching PCT this innovative project has been introduced as a year long pilot. As part of this work we have also launched a website for Mind in Bradford www.mindinbradford.org.uk.
The email service will provide the same level of information and support as the Guide-Line helpline. The service is for anyone with concerns about their own emotional and mental health, or someone else’s wellbeing.
Through this we aim to ensure that people across the Bradford Metropolitan District get the right information and support at a time when they need it and in the way they find it easiest to access.
Now people will be able to contact us at any time of the day or night and from a location that suits them. However, whilst we promise a quick response to enquiries, we cannot respond urgently to people in crisis via the email service; they should continue to use existing services.
Staffed by trained, professional workers and volunteers, this new confidential service will be an extension of our existing and much used telephone service.
This email service is of course available to everyone over 18, but we hope in particular that it will be used by people who may not access traditional services, allowing them to get information and support in a way that suits them .
People can access this service via our website or by emailing alex@mindinbradford.org.uk.
Guide-Line.
Bradford District’s mental health Telephone Information and Support Service is a service provided by Mind in Bradford.
It is open 12 noon to 9 pm every day of the year on 01274 594594. This valuable service provides information and support to service users, carers and other professionals. Here is what some people have said after using the service:
Guide-Line workers encourage and empower. They do not judge or put you down. … I often see myself as stigmatised… they help me feel like a first class citizen.
When I am losing hope, I am directed towards ways of finding solutions or appropriate further help.
I know I can trust Guide-Line. They help me lift my mood when I am low. They are a listening ear and understanding people.
Mind in Bradford’s services are available to anyone in the Bradford District (inc Shipley, Bingley and Keighley), so please feel free to promote this project, and promotional material will be available soon!
